with our Thai exchange student PaoPao - vaihto-opiskelijan haastattelu Have you travelled abroad before coming to Finland? What did you know about Finland before you came here? I've travelled to other countries besides my hometown before, but Finland is the first European country that I’ve been to. I knew that in Finland, there are plenty of nature tourist attractions, especially forests, so that’s one reason why I wanted to visit Finland too! How do you like Hämeenlinna? How does Hämeenlinna differ from your hometown? I like Finnish people in Hämeen- linna. They are kind and pay atten- tion to every detail. Once I got lost on the way to my tutorial school in Hämeenlinna. A Finnish pedestrian saw me confused and looking at the map. He came to me and helped me to figure out the way to my school; although it was just a small help, it means a lot to me. I also like the park in Hämeenlinna castle. It’s a very nice place to run and cycle, which I do on every occasion that I have. The air is fresh and there are wonderful lake views. I would say that they are very different. In Finnish schools, study groups are small, so everyone can learn more effectively. There are a lot more students per teacher and the study groups are usually very large in Thai schools. Also, Finnish schools are more relaxed, in my opinion. In Thailand we must wear a school uniform all the time when we’re in school. How do Thai schools differ from Finnish ones?
